LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Three Georgia Gwinnett College women’s tennis players have earned first NAIA All-America team honors among six Grizzlies recognized for their strong performances during the 2019 championship season, the national office announced on Tuesday, May 21.

Sophomore Madeline Bosnjak, junior Emerald Able and senior Maria Prados Cid earned the top honor. The trio combined for a 48-1 record in singles matches, led by Bosnjak’s 21-0 mark. Twenty of her victories this spring came on the No. 1 singles court. Bosnjak is also a two-time Most Outstanding Player at the NAIA national championships and the 2018 NAIA singles national champion.

Able won all 12 of her singles matches and teamed with Bosnjak for a 14-0 record at the top of the doubles lineup.

Prados Cid registered a 15-1 singles record and went 18-1 in doubles action. She teamed with senior Henar Munoz for a key point on the No. 2 court to give the Grizzlies a 2-1 lead in the 2019 NAIA national championship match triumph against Keiser University (Fla.).

Munoz earned second NAIA All-America team honors as she combined for a 32-1 record, with an 18-0 record in doubles matches. She had a 7-0 singles record at No. 2 singles and added seven wins on the No. 3 court.

Junior Gabrielle Robinson and freshman Tereza Koplova were honorable mention selections. Robinson was one of six GGC players to win 10 or more singles matches this spring. She also had a 6-3 doubles record on the No. 3 court.

Koplova went 15-1 in singles action and won a straight-set match at No. 6 singles in the national championship match. She went 7-0 on the No. 5 court and won 12 of her 16 doubles matches during her first collegiate season.

Georgia Gwinnett College won the 2019 NAIA national championship for its fifth title in six seasons of postseason eligibility. The team had a 20-1 record during the 2019 spring season.
