If you’re looking to host a small tournament or an event that will fill an entire stadium, the Gwinnett Sports Commission is here to help!

Gwinnett County is home to several state-of-the-art sports facilities, including the Gas South District and Coolray Field, which have hosted major sporting events such as professional sports, NCAA Championships, SEC Championships, and a variety of other sporting events of all levels.

Gwinnett also has several privately owned facilities, such as the Suwanee Sports Academy, that have hosted major events, bringing in teams and competitors from across the country. The Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation department has been named as the #1 parks and recreation department in the nation by the National Parks Association and has some of the best facilities in the country. Gwinnett is also home to both private and public golf courses that can be used for golf tournaments.

GAS SOUTH ARENA

The Gas South Arena has been home to some of the Southeast’s top sports events, including the 2013 and 2014 SEC Women’s Basketball Championships, the 2015 and 2023 SEC Gymnastics Championships and the 2009 NCAA Women’s Round I and II National Basketball Championships.

The Arena can accommodate groups from 3,500 to 13,000 for sporting events and includes a house reduction system.

COOLRAY FIELD

Coolray Field, home to the Gwinnett Stripers, is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The facility is one of the best in Minor League Baseball and includes seating for 10,427.

The facility also offers amenities for non-game related events.

SUWANEE SPORTS ACADEMY (SSA)

The Suwanee Sports Academy has more than 100,000 sq. ft. of space, including seven regulation basketball courts and 11 regulation volleyball courts.

This multi-purpose facility offers flexibility to any event planner, using a pick-and-choose system of options where a group can tailor its configuration (i.e., set-up, concessions or bleachers).

GAS SOUTH CONVENTION CENTER

The Gas South Convention Center is comprised of 90,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, a 21,600 sq. ft. grand ballroom and 24 versatile meeting rooms that can accommodate small and large groups alike.

GARY PIRKLE PARK

Gary Pirkle Park, a city of Sugar Hill facility, is a world-class park that includes five multi-purpose fields. All of the fields are synthetic turf (255,000 sq. ft.).

LIFETIME ATHLETIC & TENNIS

LifeTime Athletic and Tennis at Peachtree Corners is one of Gwinnett’s premier tennis facilities.

This LifeTime facility contains 16 hard courts with lights, including their stadium court, which holds 3,500 seats for viewing. It also includes 4 clay courts, as well as 8 indoor courts and 4 junior quick start courts.
