LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Three Georgia Gwinnett College baseball players have been named 2019 NAIA All-Americans after making significant contributions to the Grizzlies’ semifinal appearance at the Avista NAIA World Series. The honors were announced Tuesday, June 4, by the national office.

Sophomore second baseman Cam Coursey earned first-team accolades for the second consecutive season. Senior utility player Brody Wofford received second-team honors, while senior pitcher Gregory Loukinen was an honorable mention choice.

GGC has had 14 All-Americans since 2014, including a first-team selection in each of the past five seasons.

Coursey led the team with a .458 batting average, 104 hits, nine triples and 63 RBI. The Sugar Hill, Ga., native was the Association of Independent Institutions 2019 Player of the Year. He successfully stole 20 bases and started 60 of 61 games.

Coursey joins Marcus McCorkle as the only two-time NAIA All-American selections in program history.

Wofford connected on 11 home runs and collected 61 RBI during his first season in Lawrenceville. The Rome, Ga., native received second All-A.I.I. team honors as a first baseman and started each game in left field during the team’s postseason play. Wofford hit a grand slam in the team’s World Series opening-game victory against Faulkner University (Ala.). For the season, he batted .327 and had 66 hits, including a team-high 20 doubles, and scored 50 runs.

Loukinen led GGC’s pitching staff with 10 victories and tossed a complete-game victory against Bellevue University (Neb.) at the 2019 World Series. The left hander was named the 2019 A.I.I. Pitcher of the Year and led the Grizzlies with 101 strikeouts this past season. He tossed the program’s only no-hitter in 2018.

GGC had a 48-13 record and reached the semifinals of the Avista World Series for the second consecutive season. The Grizzlies won the A.I.I. championship and ended the regular season ranked No. 4 in the final NAIA Top 25 poll.
