LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Scoring 11 runs and batting .500 over eight games have earned Georgia Gwinnett College junior outfielder RaeQuinn Rossetti the Association of Independent Institutions’ Softball Hitter of the Week award.
Rossetti collected 10 hits in 20 at bats (.500 average) and had a .630 on-base percentage as the nationally ranked Grizzlies went 7-1 last week. She also drew seven walks, scored 11 runs and was a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen bases.
The Greenville, Ga., native went 3-for-3 and scored two runs in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader sweep against the University of South Carolina Beaufort. Rossetti also recorded multiple-hit performances against Ave Maria University (Fla.) and the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) last week.
Rossetti has helped the No. 5 Grizzlies post a 21-5 record, with a .362 batting average, and a team-high 13 stolen bases and 25 runs scored.
Georgia Gwinnett College is scheduled to host a doubleheader against Thomas University (Ga.) on Tuesday, March 12, at 4 p.m. before hosting Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) on Saturday, March 16, at 4 p.m. The Grizzlies travel to A.I.I. opponent Talladega College (Ala.) on Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m.
