LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 1-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women’s tennis team sent its three seniors off with a commanding 9-0 victory against Reinhardt University (Ga.) in a Senior Day match on Tuesday afternoon.

Seniors Henar Munoz, Maria Prados Cid and Chiara Rebecchi played their final home match and were honored during a pre-match ceremony.

Munoz and Prados Cid won eight of the nine games on the No. 1 doubles court. Rebecchi teamed with sophomore Madeline Bosnjak for an 8-1 triumph on the No. 2 court. Then, junior Gabrielle Robinson and freshman Tereza Koplova also won by an 8-1 score at No. 3 to round out the doubles action.

The seniors carried their strong play into singles with Rebecchi clinching the team victory by winning all 12 games on the No. 6 court. Prados Cid also was victorious in similar fashion at No. 3 singles. Munoz recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory on the No. 2 court.

Also in singles, Bosnjak won all 12 games at the top of the singles lineup; Koplova picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5; and Robinson rounded out the winners with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on the No. 4 court.

GGC completed the regular season with a 16-1 record. The Grizzlies now set their sights to the 2019 NAIA Men’s Tennis National Championships in Mobile, Ala., from May 15-19.

“Our three seniors have played a large part in our success and made a positive impact for the future. They definitely will be missed. It was special that we sent them off with a win. Hopefully, we can send them off with another national championship in May and finish this season in the right way,” said Head Coach Chase Hodges.
