LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia Gwinnett College men’s tennis sophomore Valentino Caratini has earned Google Cloud NAIA At-Large Academic All-District team recognition, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America.
Caratini is now eligible for the Academic All-America team.
The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native has helped the Grizzlies win 108 consecutive matches by posting a 16-0 singles record and a 22-3 record in doubles so far during the 2019 season.
The business finance major earned honorable mention NAIA All-America team accolades during GGC’s 2018 national championship campaign.
Academic All-District and All-America honors consider student-athletes with a 3.30 or higher grade point average and be in their second year at the college. The at-large category consists of student-athletes competing in men’s volleyball, tennis, swimming and diving, lacrosse, golf and wrestling.
Georgia Gwinnett College stands 26-0 on the season and will play for the program’s sixth straight NAIA national title on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m. from Mobile, Ala. The team faces No. 7-seeded Xavier University (La.) in the title match.
