LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Gwinnett College men’s tennis team registered a pair of shutout victories against NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey College (N.C.) by 5-0 and 7-0 scores Wednesday afternoon at the GGC Tennis Facility.

Sophomore Federico Bonacia led GGC (14-0) by recording a pair of wins at the top of the singles and doubles lineups. He teamed with senior Ayed Zatar in doubles before picking up wins on the No. 1 singles court.

Junior Mika Kosonen earned a pair of straight-set wins in singles, tallying a victory at No. 4 singles after registering a win on the No. 5 court earlier in the day.

The No. 2 doubles team of senior Rafael Coutinho and sophomore Valentino Caratini earned a pair of victories. Coutinho won in straight sets at No. 2 singles in the second match of the day, while Caratini was a straight-set winner at No. 4 singles during Wednesday’s first match.

Junior Gregor Hutterer and freshman Daniel Czepielewski was victorious on the No. 3 doubles court. Czepelewski recorded a win at No. 5 singles, while Hutterer won in straight sets on the No. 6 court during the second match.

Zatar rounded out the winners with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles in the first match.

GGC has won 96 consecutive matches, marking the longest active winning streak in all of intercollegiate athletics.
