LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia Gwinnett College women’s tennis players Madeline Bosnjak and Maria Prados Cid have earned distinction for their success in the classroom and on the court on the Google Cloud NAIA Academic At-Large All-District Team, selections by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Both student-athletes are now eligible to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America team honors.

Student-athletes with a 3.30 or higher grade point average and in their second year at their college can be nominated by CoSIDA members for this academic award. The at-large category consist of players from tennis, swimming and diving, lacrosse and golf.

Bosnjak, a junior business management major, is the ranked No. 1 NAIA singles player by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), posting a 20-0 record so far this fall. She has also posted an 18-0 doubles record this spring.

This came after the Frankfurt de Main, Germany, native won the 2018 NAIA singles national title last fall. Bosnjak was named the Most Outstanding Player as the Grizzlies captured the 2018 NAIA team national championship in May 2018.

Meanwhile, Prados Cid has a combined 32-2 record this spring, highlighted by a 17-1 mark in doubles action. She has a 15-1 singles record and received the NAIA’s Most Improved Senior award by the ITA.

The senior business finance major won the clinching point in the 2018 national championship match.

The Grizzlies stand 19-1 on the season and will play for the program’s fifth national championship on Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m. from Mobile, Ala.
