Congratulations to the Shuma Sports Player of the Week, Buford’s Brady Todd, who is a member of the varsity tennis team! Brady is a junior at Buford where he is competing for the varsity tennis team under the direction of coach Sean Gilbert.

Brady has been a part of Buford’s tennis varsity team since his freshman year. Brady has been #1 in singles during his entire high school career. In this past season Brady had a perfect record of 20-0 and he has a lifetime record of 46-11. Brady has contributed to Buford’s last three years dominance, where they have won three consecutive region championships and in 2018 Buford were state runners up.

Brady has been Region 8AAAAA Player of the Year for the last two years and he has also been recognized by the Gwinnett Daily Post in Gwinnett’s “Super Six”, which highlights the best tennis players in the county. Brady competes year-round in tournaments around the southeast. Brady is also an extremely hardworking student and is planning on playing tennis in college after he graduate high school.

Coach Gilbert said that even though he does not have a specific favorite memory with Brady, he mentioned that Brady has fearlessly and fiercely led Buford’s tennis team since he was a freshman with incredible consistency, class, and heart. Coach Gilbert are very proud of the young man and competitor that Brady is.
