Congratulations to the Shuma Sports Player of the Week, Mill Creek’s Nathan Carlson, who is a member of the varsity soccer team! Nathan is a junior at Mill Creek where he is competing for the varsity soccer team under the direction of coach Stephen George.
On April 16, Nathan stepped up in a must-win situation when he scored 2 goals and had 2 assists in Mill Creek’s 5-1 win against Peachtree Ridge. By winning this game Mill Creek advanced into the state playoffs. Nathan has had a great 2019 season where he has started 16 games and has played 1250 out of 1310 possible minutes during the season. In addition to his 2 goals and 2 assists on April 16, Nathan has been recorded for 3 assists on the season.
Coach George described Nathan as a selfless teammate who has been playing out of position for the majority of the 2019 season. Even though Nathan is used to playing in an attacking position he has been playing as a defensive center midfield.
Nathan is an excellent student in addition to being a great athlete. He maintains a 3.9 GPA and is planning on going to college to play soccer when he graduates from Mill Creek.
Keep up the excellent work Nathan! We are excited to see what your academic and athletic career has in store for you!
