LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 1-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women’s tennis team got back to its winning ways with an 8-1 home victory against SCAD Atlanta on Saturday afternoon at the GGC Tennis Facility.

GGC (12-1), which suffered its first loss of the season at NCAA Division II Columbus State University on March 27, swept the three doubles matches to grab early momentum of the match.

The team of junior Emerald Able and sophomore Madeline Bosnjak won all eight games at the top of the doubles lineup. Seniors Henar Munoz and Maria Prados Cid earned an 8-3 triumph on the No. 2 court. Junior Gabrielle Robinson and freshman Tereza Koplova picked up an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Grizzlies won all six singles matches in straight sets, led by Bosnjak winning all 12 games on the No. 1 court. Able and Munoz won 12 of the 13 games at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Meanwhile, Prados Cid (No. 4) and Koplova (No. 6) were victorious by identical 6-2, 6-1 scores.
