LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The top-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women’s tennis team picked up another commanding 9-0 home spring victory, this time against Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) on Tuesday afternoon at the GGC Tennis Facility.
The Grizzlies (8-0) got out to a fast start, winning 24 of the 26 games across the three doubles matches against an opponent that received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.
A pair of 8-0 victories by the teams of senior Henar Munoz and sophomore Madeline Bosnjak and senior Maria Prados Cid and freshman Tereza Koplova came on the No. 1 and 2 courts, respectively. Then, the junior tandem of Chiara Rebecchi and Debora Scurt earned an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
GGC also showcased strong play in singles with straight-set wins on all six courts. Senior Gabrielle Robinson won by identical 6-1 set scores on the No. 4 court. Bosnjak recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the top of the singles lineup. Munoz won all 12 games at No. 2 singles. Prados Cid picked up a 6-1, 6-1 triumph on the No. 3 court.
Koplova and Rebecchi registered 6-0, 6-0 victories on the No. 5 and 6 courts, respectively, to wrap up the day for the victorious Grizzlies.
