A big congratulations to the Shuma Sports Player of the Week, North Gwinnett High School wrestler, Dianna Holmes!

Dianna is a sophomore at North Gwinnett High School where she has been a varsity starter for the wrestling team for two years. Dianna has a wrestling record of 31-19. She was just named the 106-pound GHSA Girls State Champion in the first ever girls state tournament. Dianna also leads the team in academics with an overall average in her classes of 93.

“My favorite memory with her is being able to sit in the corner during the inaugural girls state tournament and see her pin her way through the competitors.”, her Coach Kyle McKee said. He added, “She has been a role model for all of our wrestlers here at North Gwinnett, and an ambassador for women in this sport.”

Dianna’s near future holds training for upcoming national girls’ tournaments to add to her All-American status. Post high school she plans to wrestle in college.

Keep blazing those trails, Dianna! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
