Congrats to Parkview High School‘s, Braden Hays, for being the Gwinnett Sports Commission player of the week!

Braden is a senior left-handed pitcher on the Panthers’ varsity team. He recently pitched 5 innings (a complete game) with 12 strikeouts and only allowed 3 hits, 1 walk and no runs, to win against North Broward Prep.

Not only is Braden an impressive pitcher but equally an impressive person. He is heavily involved in Parkview’s FCA program and his Student Leadership team at his church, Mountain Park First Baptist. Coach Reynolds said, “We don’t have formal captains but he would definitely fit the mold if we did. When he speaks, his peers listen because he is a role model on and off the field, and his younger teammates look up to him and his classmates respect him.” He also humbly boasts a 3.95 GPA.

Due to his athletic and academic abilities, he was offered and has accepted a scholarship to Georgia Southern. Braden, we look forward to seeing what the future holds for you. We know it is bright! Best of luck at Southern next year.
