Keynote Speaker Carol Burrell Headlines Inspiring Event
GWINNETT – METRO ATLANTA – Officials of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic announced today the return of the Georgia United Credit Union Executive Women’s Day, a daylong celebration of the power and accomplishments of women in metro Atlanta scheduled for Monday, April 9, 2018. The event, beginning at the Infinite Energy Forum in Duluth, will kick off the sixth playing of the prestigious PGA TOUR Champions tournament hosted annually at the renowned TPC Sugarloaf golf course.
Georgia United Credit Union Executive Women’s Day will begin with a panel discussion featuring Terri Jondahl, CEO of CAB Incorporated; Carla Carraway, President of Precision Planning, Inc.; Darrice Griffin, Deputy Director of Administration at the University of Georgia Athletic Association; and Vonda Bledsoe, Vice President of Service and Sales at Georgia United Credit Union. Kim Wall, Director of Business and Community Development at Georgia United Credit Union, will moderate.
Following the panel discussion, guests will hear from Carol Burrell, the President and Chief Executive Officer for Northeast Georgia Health System, as she delivers the keynote speech, sponsored by Infiniti of Gwinnett.
Attendees will also be taken to TPC Sugarloaf where they will engage in two interactive breakout sessions: PGA TOUR 101 and GOLF 101. To conclude the day, guests will gather for Wine Down, a networking event sponsored by Primerica. Wine Down will feature author, University of Georgia alumni, and CEO and owner of Southern Baked Pie, Amanda Wilbanks as the guest speaker.
Burrell is the president and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS). She has been a part of the senior management team at NGHS for almost two decades, serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer before being named president and CEO in 2011. Burrell’s achievements have been recognized statewide; Georgia Trend magazine consistently places her on their list of the 100 Most Influential Georgians and in 2017, named her Georgia’s Most Respected Business Leader. Locally, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce presented her with the 2017 Distinguished Citizen Award, and the Gainesville Rotary Club bestowed on her their 2015 Guardian of Ethics Award, which recognizes a member who exemplifies a strong passion for ethics in his or her personal and professional life. Burrell was born and raised in Carl, Ga. She earned her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Georgia Southern and Emory University and her master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University.
Wilbanks is a creative entrepreneur who turned her love for baking homemade pies into a thriving business. The Southern Baked Pie Company opened in 2013 as Buttermilk Pie Co. and currently spans three Georgia locations in Gainesville, Buckhead and Alpharetta. Wilbank’s recipes are also shipped for retail sales and corporate gifts and enjoyed by people across the United States, including celebrities like Kelly Ripa and Nancy Sinatra. Additionally, Southern Baked Pie Company is partnered with Dean & Deluca in New York and California, as well as Café Intermezzo and all Chop Steak Houses. Wilbanks has won several culinary awards and in 2017 was recognized by North Fulton County as a Business Person of Excellence Award Winner. The University of Georgia graduate and her company have been featured in USA Today, Garden & Gun Magazine, Points North Atlanta Magazine and Southern Living Magazine.
Jondahl serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CAB Incorporated and CAB Worldwide Holdings Inc. operations in the U.S., South Africa, China, India, Korea and Vietnam. She is the majority shareholder of CAB, which holds certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise.
Carraway is the President of Precision Planning, Inc. a respected Gwinnett County engineering, architectural and surveying firm. Growing up in Gwinnett County, Carraway understands the value of community, engagement and giving back.
Griffin was recently named deputy director of administration at the University of Georgia Athletic Association. She has more than 10 years of high-level experience in collegiate sports administration.
Bledsoe is the Vice President of Service and Sales at Georgia United Credit Union. She has served in leadership roles with Georgia United in retail banking areas for the past five years.
Moderator, Wall, serves as the Director of Business and Community Development at Georgia United Credit Union. She was named as the Credit Union’s first marketing director over 30 years ago when she joined the company and was later promoted to Vice President of Marketing.
