Scott Henrichsen has been named President of the Atlanta Gladiators, the team announced Tuesday.
“Scott’s experience within sports as well as in other industries provides a diversity of qualities that will allow him be successful with the Gladiators Organization,” said Gladiators Majority Owner Toby Jeffreys. “Throughout the hiring process, Scott continued to emerge as an outstanding candidate. In speaking to his references there was one constant, I would hire Scott again and I would never turn down a chance to work with him. To me, this spoke very highly of Scott’s character, professionalism and ability to lead.”
Henrichsen comes to the Gladiators from Sports Force Parks in Sandusky, OH where he served as the General Manager for the past year. The San Jose, CA native is no stranger to the Atlanta market as he served as a Premium Seat Sales Manager for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons from 2002 to 2009 where he generated over $60 million in new revenue.
“Spending 14 years in the Metro Atlanta area with the Falcons and later Zoom Media gives me a great familiarity with the region and the local businesses,” stated Henrichsen. “My goal is to use the connections I have accumulated in my time here and grow upon that moving forward to further build on the great success that this organization has established.”
In total, Henrichsen has gained over 20 years of experience in sales and the sports industry amassing more than $100 million in personal ticket revenue for various sports teams at every level. Hockey is not a new sport for Henrichsen as he worked for the Minnesota Wild and St. Paul Arena during their first season in the NHL, in addition to several years in Boise, ID with the Idaho Steelheads (then of the West Coast Hockey League). Having previously served various rolls such as Director of Tickets Sales, Director of Business Operations and General Manager, he now steps into his first opportunity as a president of a professional sports organization.
“Becoming a team president has been my goal since I started in the business with the Idaho Steelheads way back in 1997,” said the Gladiators’ new President. “I plan on bringing lots of enthusiasm, fun and most importantly dedication to the fans and staff to add to the success from the first 15 years of the Gladiators organization.”
