Congrats to North Gwinnett‘s, Jake Brace, for being the Gwinnett Sports Commission player of the week!
Jake is a senior, right-handed pitcher and shortstop for the Bulldog Baseball team. Coach Moity had this to say of Jake, “He is a great player but an even better student, teammate, and leader. Jake has played a major role in the success of our program for four years. On and off the field, he represents everything a coach looks for in a high school athlete. He does an amazing job representing himself, his family, our program, and the community well. He is a natural born leader and is a rare pedigree; his mentality is unmatched. Jake is the first to volunteer in the community when the opportunity arises and is always willing to help others. He has been a joy to coach and will be tough to replace.”
When not pitching perfect games, Jake can be found swimming, attending SALT (Student Athlete Leadership Team) meetings, or studying to maintain his 4.0 GPA and membership in the National Honor Society.
Jake has been offered and has accepted a baseball and academic scholarship with Georgia Tech and will take his talents there next year. We are incredibly proud of you, Jake and know that you coaches, teammates, and family are as well. Good luck next year!
